Home is Where the Heart Is
A Norfolk County girl through and through: Mary-Ellen started her Financial planning business in Simcoe in 1998 after practicing as a CA/CPA for several years in Simcoe before that. She is sure to point out some of the attractions of the area – and that the “natural wonders of the area often overlooked.” In her spare time Mary-Ellen takes advantage of the wonders around her – walking and cycling the trails, kayaking and visiting the wineries.
Connecting among the Collectibles
The Wiebe Team was founded as a way for Mary-Ellen to be her best self for both her clients and family. Currently housed in a beautiful, old medical building the office set up was perfect for both professional office space and home.
About 7 years after opening, a friendly chat at a Simcoe yard sale connected Mary-Ellen to her business partner Julia Easey. (You just never know what you’re going to find when you go thrifting!) Fifteen years later, the office supports Mary-Ellen and Julia as well as an assistant and counting.
The Call is coming from INSIDE THE HOUSE
Currently, Julia and Mary-Ellen are working on completely separate floors of the office. They both have separate entrances and washrooms to ensure physical distancing. Communication between the partners is conducted virtually, on the front porch or their gorgeous gazebo in the backyard. Clients of the Wiebe Team are served through the same means – electronic signatures, secure file share software. They also conduct outdoor chats and have a fully sanitized outdoor mailbox ensure that the lines of communication are open.
The Wiebe Team Delivers!
Mary-Ellen stated that Norfolk served her well and she wants to serve it back and The Wiebe Team delivers! The Simcoe IPC Team has partnered with the Dundas office to lead in the Simcoe Downtown revitalization. They are currently in the process of building a brand new office. The new building will house the Wiebe team and still have room for 8 apartments. While they’re hoping to be all moved in by the end of the year, no moss grows on this team. Fiercely committed to helping create a vision for the future development of downtown Simcoe, Mary-Ellen is a proud member of 100 Women Who Care – Norfolk, Ryverside 83, Indwell, and the Simcoe BIA. She un-ironically remarked that “it feels good to be helping in concrete ways.”
