Norfolk County Public Library

Public libraries are an important and integral part of any community. We stopped by the Norfolk County Public Library’s Simcoe Branch for a tour, and to chat about the many services and supports that they offer.

"It’s a community spot, it’s a hub of activity, of learning. It’s a place of discovery and imagination."

September is Library Card Sign Up Month! All month long they’re encouraging the community to stop by any branch to sign up for a card. While you’re there, discover some of the ways that the library is ‘More Than Books’!

Connect, Play, Create, Dream, Engage and Discover MORE!

The library offers so many incredible supports, services, and subscriptions to provide entertainment, academic and professional development, learning, exploring, collaboration, and connection. It’s an accepting and inclusive space that offers equal opportunity for everyone, from any background. Just some of the ‘more’ features you can discover are free movies, documentaries, tv and music, eBooks and Audiobooks, internet and computer access, a maker space full of amazing equipment and maker kits, and lots of amazing programming including Tech Help, Lego Club, and Storytime. There truly is something for everyone in the community!

We’re proud to have ‘adopted’ numerous books written by local authors, as well as some Maker Kits to explore. This fundraising campaign is focused on supporting early foundational literacy skills development. The funds are used to purchase reading materials that will provide children from across our communities with access to high-quality books. It provides children with the chance to unleash their potential and embark on a lifelong journey of learning! Be sure to let us know or tag us if you borrow one of our adopted books!
