“Building hope through dignity, compassion, and the strength of our communities.”
The Norfolk Haldimand Community Hospice provides high-quality, compassionate end-of-life services and care to our community. While they are still working towards building a physical centre for hospice palliative care, they go beyond the building through the many incredible and important services that they currently offer.
Recently, we had the opportunity to meet and chat with Maureen Russell, Bereavement Care Provider at NH Community Hospice. We were grateful to learn more about ways they are already helping the community, and their goals for what is to come.
Some of the many Bereavement Programs include Individual Anticipatory and Bereavement Support, Children’s Bereavement, Education, Group Sessions, Grief Expressions Workshops, and Children’s Grief Camps.

“Let’s take that love, and that passion, and that honouring, and bring it right across both communities.”
This festive season, NH Community Hospice is embracing an idea born from a father’s love. What began in Port Dover with the Holiday Tree of Hope has now spread through Norfolk and Haldimand Counties and can be seen in Caledonia, Jarvis, Port Dover, Simcoe, and Waterford.
We loved this beautiful idea and jumped on board. We wrapped one of the trees in front of the Nova office in blue lights to show our support, and how we are truly rooted in community. We proudly made a donation to support the hospice this holiday season.
