We were proud to be a sponsor and attend Core Impact Coalition’s inaugural summer picnic for a cause – Nourish Norfolk! This inspiring event celebrated the new summer season and embraced community and a love of all things local. It was held on the stunning and serene grounds of Homegrown Hideaway.
A key highlight of this event was encouraging sustainability and environmental responsibility through fun filled family events like a collaborative art project, outdoor games, a clothing swap and bring your own or pre-ordered picnic options (don’t forget reusable plates and cutlery!).
The incredible local vendors (Generations Marketplace, Fancy Farmerettes, Abundance on the 8th, and The Flower Farm) were all invited to attend because they are true sustainability champions in our region.

"We’re just finding these kinds of events are really connecting us to Norfolk and to the people and certainly to building a community that supports each other."
Non-perishable food items were collected along with ticket sales supporting the Simcoe Caring Cupboard. This event truly focused on making a positive impact on Norfolk County.
We sponsored the Eco Challenge which focused on 4 main targets – Zero Waste, Inclusivity, Reduced Carbon Footprint and Community Well-Being. There were some amazing (local) prizes awarded including gift cards for Norfolk Juice Co, The Folk and Dover Mercantile.
The weather was perfect, the live music by Nolan Gibson was beautiful, and the community came together for a wonderful evening. Thank you so much to Core Impact Coalition for all of your work in creating this beautiful picnic for a cause, for supporting our community, and for leaving a lasting positive impact. We can’t wait until next time!
