Volunteering in our Community

Our Culture thrives on our six values, and community is one of them. Volunteerism contributes over 2 billion hours to Canada’s work efforts*. The time and skills shared by 43.6% of Canadians* helps ensure all types of community services and supports stay available to those who can benefit. Nova Mutual empowers our Team Members to do their part – on company time.

Nova Mutual has a proud history of contributing to local organizations and charities and our team members are a big part of that story. Richard Gelbard, Underwriting Specialist was pleased to be able to present a donation check from Nova Mutual to the Norfolk General Hospital Foundation this December. In recognition of 40 hours of volunteer service, Nova Mutual will donate $200 to the Team Members chosen cause. How cool is that?!

Nova Mutual Team Members are involved in so many different types of initiatives all throughout Haldimand and Norfolk. We have Sparks Leaders, longtime Norfolk County Fair volunteers, school helpers and board members who contribute their skills and business acumen to strengthen our community platforms from a leadership standpoint. We have all different types of people keeping some of Canada’s most important services running and serving our friends and neighbours.

In 2019, our Team Members contributed over 300 hours of service to our community- and it’s true that so many more hours, resources, and mentorship is not even accounted for in that number. We believe in our team and we believe in our community.
